The individuals from the LURIC cohort (n = 2070) were stratified by diabetes status into T2D (n = 801) and non-diabetes (n = 1269). Participants were further grouped into 5 diabetes clusters and 6 non-diabetic clusters, combined into low-risk and high-risk subgroups, which indicate an increased risk of diabetes and metabolic complications
